Buffalo Bird Woman (ca. 1839-1932) was a traditional Mandan Hidatsa woman who lived on the Fort Berthold Reservation in North Dakota. Her Hidatsa name was Maxidiwiac. She was known for maintaining the traditional Hidatsa skills of "gardening, the preparation of food, weaving and many others."〔Buffalo Bird Woman.
